Otidea bufonia (Pers.) Boud. Kröten-Öhrling Toad's Ear. Cup 1–7cm across, cup-shaped and split at one side, becoming irregularly wavy, inner surface dark brown, outer slightly paler and minutely downy. Flesh thin, brown. Asci 160–200 x 10–12µ, not blued by iodine. Paraphyses slender, strongly curved at tip. Spores elliptic-fusiform, containing two oil drops, 13–15 x 6.5–7µ. Habitat roadsides, woodland. Season late summer to early autumn. Rare. Not edible. Found In Europe.
